Knee Friction Simulator
The Prosim Knee Friction Simulator is a compact, freestanding machine that provides accurate, economical testing and measurement of friction in the articulation of both hip and knee implants.
The use of pneumatics, servo-motors and hydrostatic bearings allows the Prosim Knee Friction Simulator to filter out all other frictional components other than that of the frictional coefficient of the knee implant.
The data generated by the Prosim Knee Friction Simulator supports the plotting of the Stribeck curve, as well as the determination of the frictional coefficient.
The Prosim Knee Friction Simulator includes numerous features and benefits:
- five degrees of freedom are provided, of which two are driven and three are 'frictionless'
- Test specimens can be quickly removed from the machine
- Test specimens are exercised in a lubricant bath, with the option to fit a bellows seal to allow testing in an enclosed environment
- easy to use Windows operator screen
- user interface consistent with that provided with the range of Prosim Wear Simulators
- can also be used for the testing of hip implants
Prosim is able to offer customisation of its simulators to meet client's specific testing requirements.
