About us
Prosim, a division of the Simulation Solutions Group, has been a global leader in orthopedic wear testing technology since the early 1990s. Founded through a pioneering collaboration with research teams at the University of Leeds, Prosim developed some of the world’s first mechanical wear and fatigue simulators for orthopedic implants. This partnership helped establish one of the largest independent wear testing laboratories in the world, with over 100 stations of testing capacity for hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and spinal implants.
From our earliest work with DePuy Synthes to participation in major European research initiatives like the Lifelong Joints Project, Prosim has consistently pushed the boundaries of implant wear research. Our relationship with Leeds University continues to thrive, supporting both scientific discovery and practical advancements in fatigue testing.
Today, Simulation Solutions offers a complete suite of electro-mechanical tribological and ware simulators for medical and industrial fatigue testing. In addition to major joint implants, our systems also support testing of ankles, shoulders, elbows, fingers, and cadaveric specimens. With a flexible and customer-focused approach, we regularly co-develop custom simulators to meet the unique needs of clients in both mature and emerging global markets.
We are proud to offer simulators that go beyond ISO standards—capable of simulating complex real-world conditions, multiple loading profiles, and adverse wear scenarios. Our cutting-edge electro-mechanical simulators, including the spinal implant wear simulator, deliver unmatched precision and repeatability at a competitive price—making them ideal for high-performance testing environments.
With over 25 years of innovation, trusted partnerships, and engineering excellence, Prosim continues to lead the way in orthopedic wear and industrial fatigue testing.

Prosim Services.
We see the ability to have engineers on site as an important part of our offering and that is why we use a combination of local engineers (from our distributors) and our own staff to support Prosim simulator installations across the world.
We are also able to offer ‘return to base’ refurbishment services to extend the useful economic life of your Prosim simulators, including the replacement of the control system with the latest generation control system.
